BUMP is reimagining and supporting a more inclusive arts education paradigm fueled by the cultural wealth of African diasporic people in our local community. BUMP builds heritage connections that locate, affirm, and empower youth from underserved and racially marginalized communities impacted by historical violence and economic disparities. We create access to high-quality, sustainable arts study and enrichment opportunities. We model the innovation and educational benefits of African diasporic cultural practices as standard arts pedagogy. We acknowledge its role in dismantling systemic racism and it's power to heal trauma by centering joy. The generosity of our business and private sponsors is vital to our capacity for expanding our free and low-cost arts programming and enrichment, and reaching more local youth who might otherwise be unable to have these experiences in the arts. Sponsorships also enable BUMP to present performances and other special events that help raise the revenues needed to operate its youth arts programming.
